Some years ago picked up and browsed a couple of Nick Carter books. I did not have the money to purchase them at that time and I have not remembered the titles. I am wondering if you know of them. What is memorable in all Nick Carter books are the torture scenes that sometimes are included., and these two books were no exception. In one of the books Nick is tied to a tabletop. Two pieces of wood sandwich his genitals and the villain (although I think it was a villainess) whacked the sandwich with a mallet or hammer. The second book’s torture scene is set I believe inside the Tower of London. Nobody else remembers this setting but I am 90% sure that it was. He wakes up to find himself chained and standing. In front of him are three serrated clips hanging from cords or chains. Two of these clips are meant for his chest and the single larger one for lower down. Presumably his genitals. If you have any idea or know of any site that gives a synopsis of the books I would be grateful. Otherwise this is probably an impossible task

I think the best you'll find is the listing of titles and years and authors earlier in this thread on the first page. There's 260+ books in the series, and it's been out of print for over a decade, so intrest is pretty low on a global level. The series (at least the few books out of it that I've read) is entertaining, but just kind of sleezy. I think the intent was to out-kill, out-screw, and in general out-perform the James Bond novels in terms of how "extreme" the stories could get, and I guess on some levels they succeed.
The big question then, I suppose, is if that's a good thing...

The Nick Carter: Killmaster series is probably my favorite men's adventure series, although like all of these things the quality ebbs and flows depending on who's doing the writing. I generally side with the notion that the early/mid Seventies ones are probably the best, because they're the sleaziest.
The most recent pile of Carters I've read:
SAIGON -- this one was written by Mike Avallone and is almost a straight spy adventure ala Edward S. Aarons. Not bad, but you can always go to Aarons for that kind of stuff.
DOUBLE IDENTITY -- one of those "I have an evil double" books. Best in the first half, where for no reason Carter stumbles upon a Tibetian monastery where they'll, er, hump you to death.
THE MIND POISONERS -- Carter against those crazy hippies; of course it's all a Chinese Commie plot. Not one of the best, though there's a great torture devide that slowly grinds away your testicles and leaves you a "broken shell". It's called "the persuader".
THE GOLDEN SERPENT -- A really terrific one that combines Chinese commies, a Mexican political party that wants to take half of the US Southwest back, Mexican bandits, Nazis, and a baroness in an evil castle who's reputed to be seventy years old but only looks thirty. Oh, and a lesbian wrestler/bodyguard named Elsa.
THE JUDAS SPY -- Carter in Indonesia. Pretty dull, I seem to remember, although this does have the great Mr. Judas, the early forerunner of Dr. Evil in the Austin Powers movies.
THE TERRIBLE ONES -- Carter helps a bunch of women in a Caribbean country sort of like Haiti search for a treasure that a dictator had hidden -- as are the Chinese Commies and the Cubans. This is pretty decent, actually more or less hanging together as an adventure story (not all of these do). It also manages to work in man-ape rape and a hidden treasure in a secret monastery guarded by an ancient sect. Written by a woman, I think.
THE WEAPON OF NIGHT -- interesting only in how topical these things could be; this deals with the urban blackouts of the late Sixties.
