The best fan site out there regarding Karl Edward Wagner's masterpiece creation, the Immortal Kane. www.dodgenet.com/~moonblossom/kane.htmIf you are a fan of really intense, no-bullshit Sword & Sorcery fiction, then you need to read KEW's Kane stories. Aside from perhaps Howard's works, Wagner's are some of the best S&S adventure fiction out there. The Nightshade Books editions of Midnight Sun and Gods in Darkness are worth every penny and more.

Dark Crusade was the best Kane novel, IMO. It doesn't matter what order you read them in. Since Kane is immortal, the events take place hundreds of years apart.

The website PMP mentions also has a wealth of information about Michael Moorcock's Elric...I keep hoping for the day when Peter Jackson will do what he did for LOTR for my favorite albino wizard warrior of Melnibone...
Well...I can hope, can't I... ;D

I've got a number of Elric stories laying around, I've read a few of them and it's good, bizarre stuff. I Recently finished White Wolf Publishing's omnibus of the Hawkmoon series. THAT is some pretty crazy violence. Moorcock catches a lot of crap for "not being original" or whathaveyou, but he's still a damn fine author and storyteller if you ask me.
