A very informative website that discusses, well, pretty much anything that a good para-military pulp enthusiast should care about. www.globalsecurity.org/index.htmlYou can waste DAYS browsing through this website.

Hello, first post. I found this board while searching for Death Merchant info. Global Security is indeed a good site; they provide tons of great reference material and love to post satellite shots of current hot spots. Its founder, John Pike, is from the Federation of American Scientists, which is usually considered to be a bit on the liberal side. Nevertheless, if you can weather the occasional heavyhanded push for money, it is a fantastic resource. Another resource is www.stratfor.com, which has traditionally emphasized analysis of geopolitical events. It is a pay site, and a friggin' expensive one at that; but if you know how to massage Google News, you can usually find the crux of their opinion for free. I actually subscribed for a year and their take on geopolitical military issues was DEAD ON. I didn't renew, though, because they seemed to shift their focus toward economic summaries for international corporations... and their prices went up. If you're looking for international military news, South Africa's Sunday Times seems not to be afraid of airing those embarrassing details that the mainstream media seem loathe to disclose. Especially about African mercenary issues, which seems to be a taboo topic in Africa. There's also www.debka.com , which focuses on mideast military news. It's heavily pro-Israel, but often gives you what the rumor mill is saying in the area. Anyway, it's great to find this board!
