Nice work Brad! It's great to see the paperback heroes of old getting a little more attention on the web! I've never heard the term "agressor" applied to the genre before...did you coin the phrase yourself or hear it somewhere?

Hi Django,
Thank you kindly.
I found the term in the introduction to THE GREAT AMERICAN DETECTIVE by William Kittredge and Steven M. Krauser which also has an Executioner short story by Don Pendleton.
The term was also used in the Executioner entry in David Pringle's IMAGINARY PEOPLE (an encyclopedia of fictional characters) which has Kittredge and Krauser's book in the bibliography.
Executioner #46 Blood Sport has a brief bio of Don Pendleton which calls him the inventor of the Aggressor.
So it seemed like the logical term to me.

Makes perfect sense! Neat!
Don't be a stranger...I hope we can get more and more fans of this under represented genre to gather here!

Hi from the UK, guys!
Thanks to this site and Brad's (GREAT site, btw!), I've finally found a place I can find much needed info on this shamefully under-loved genre!
As opposed to the US, the Aggressor books are really quite hard to find over here. I'm about to make some purchases from the States and hopefully, a kindly shop-keep might knock me a few bucks off my order (postage is a real killer!)
I recently found a post-apocalyptic book called Phoenix in an old book store. I put it down to grab frenziedly at a Destroyer book I'd never seen before (#17: Jersey Guns - great read but AWFUL UK cover!) and forgot all about it!!
Can anyone enlighten me as to what this book is like, who wrote it, etc??
btw, I recently came across the Edge & Adam Steele books by a "George G. Gilman" (real name: Terry Harknett) - very much in the style of the Aggressors, only in the Western genre. Well worth hunting down!

That's 2 discoveries I made today: this forum, and your blog. There are more of us out there! I was afraid MackBolan.com was the last outpost.
