Can somebody tell me the name of the series that had a Roman legionnaire condemned to living forever. There was a whole series of these book relating his adventures throughout history. I believe if he did get killed he recovered and came to life. Is there also a website devoted to this character?

Casca, the Eternal Mercenary, written by Barry Sadler. From the back copy: "Casca Longinus, Cursed by Christ on Golgotha. Condemned to outlive the ages, and wander the globe a constant soldier. Forever fighting, surviving, waiting for Him to return." I happen to have one of these, #21: The Trench Soldier. It's Casca in WW1 (of course), published in February of 1989 by Jove Books. It's been ages since I've read it, but I do remember it was fairly decent. A quick Google search turned up the following page. Apparently book #21 is one of the last books he wrote, since he apparently died seven months after it was published. www.barrysadler.com/home.htm

I have to admit I haven't looked too hard for other volumes in that series, but it's a very cool idea - being able to drop your hero into pretty much any time, any where. Sort of like a paperback variant of the Highlander TV series (although I'm sure Casca would never sport that supid-looking ponytail...).
