Finally got a chance to dig out some of the pbs I bought recently.
This one is installment #4 of the "John Eagle: Expeditor" series, published by Pyramid. Apparently John Eagle is a Native American hired by a fabulously wealthy old gent to "expedite" various situations, mainly by running around and shooting everybody. There's some superspy stuff here: he's outfitted with a skintight plastic suit (sounds uncomfortable!), some kind of gun that shoots needles (I'm not sure why he can't use a regular gun), and some attachment that can make him more or less blend in with his surroundings.
In this one an Arab extremist organization kills one of Eagle's friends, as a part of a long term plan to destablize a moderate Arabian country. Which obviously has some political resonances nowadays, even more so when you contemplate that the evil terrorist group, called "the fist of Fatima", is a pan-Arabian organization.
Anyway, Eagle insists on avenging his friend, and is dropped in the middle of the Libyan desert as a result. He hooks up with the Tuaregs, an indigenous tribe, and we get a lot of interesting detail about their lives and culture -- my guess is somebody did some research.
Unfortunately there's rather too much of it: the actual fight with the badguys is hurried and really not too interesting.
Any information on ths series would be welcome. Who actually wrote it? Anyone know it? Any better volumes?

Pandora's Books is a website that often lists the true names of series authors using various pseudonyms...they attribute Fist of Fatima to one "Robert Lory"... There appear to be numerous authors for the John Eagle Series...including Manning Lee Stokes and Paul Eiden... Gotta love those covers...
